A Message from Athletes in Tandem: Hello and thank you for your interest in the 2016 Pelican Fest Tri. I’m sorry to tell you that I have decided to cancel the event this year. You will be issued a refund for registration and if you paid for a one day USAT license.There are several reasons for this decision beyond the current low registration numbers but the main reason is that I do not feel like I have been able to put my best effort into the race this year. My enthusiasm for putting on the event has dwindled and I don’t want it to effect the quality of the event and I fear it already has.
I’m confident that the race will be back next year with new blood to make it the quality event it has been and can be. I just know for my emotional well being that this is the best decision to help me remain happy and to continue with the work I am doing with Athletes in Tandem.
